Why did you purchase the Mental Fitness challenge for your schools?
Due to COVID 19 and lockdown, we wanted to use sport England funding to support children at this time and their wellbeing across 14 schools. The mental fitness challenge discussed with Laura was the perfect combination of getting students to consider resilience and how to use physical exercise to be mentally fit.
How would you guide the schools to use the Mental Fitness challenges whilst children are homeschooling and beyond; within PHSE lessons/assembly's etc?
Homeschool – great to do with parents/ families each week and to review some of the challenges.
PSHE/assembly’s – would work really well to show/ launch the video in assembly’s and then have a theme of the context running through tutor time (IE: thought of the week in relation to the main message of the video)
Challenges with reflection worksheets in PSHE lessons would be a great idea. Perhaps some creative way of the students sharing how they have overcome obstacles or change their mindset through the programme to be mentally fit.
What is your experience in working with Bright Futures?
Working with Bright Futures has been an excellent experience. It is tailored to the local contextual needs of the schools I work with. Laura is always positive and has a ‘can do’ attitude. She researches and is thorough and creative in what she presents. The schools I work with described the mental fitness programme as ‘impressive’, engaging and resources are well presented. I would definitely recommend working with Bright Futures.
Any other comment you feel Head Teachers would benefit from?
If you want to ensure students are independent in self-managing their own mental health, Bright Futures will work with you in ensuring the package meets this need.

Client Feedback:
"Bright Futures provided countywide training for young people living in supported accommodation. The training was focused on the skills and mindset to become an Entrepreneur and set up a business of their own. Laura has been a pleasure to work with and the feedback we have received from the young people and from the staff has been outstanding. Laura has an infectious optimism and has made a positive difference to everyone that was involved. We would not hesitate to use Bright Futures for further training in the future.
